Scotland to Norway

JuLY 2003 – Trip from Scotland to Norway

After serious inspection in Ardfern at the Scottish West coast John and Frank decided to buy Rolling Stone and consequently the next step was to get her safely to Germany. So they asked Rainer and me to join them on this passage. Due to extensive preparations in Scotland and lack of time, it was clear, that the passage had to be split in two parts, with the first trip crossing the North Sea to the sleepy harbour of Tananger at the Norwegian West coast. Especially the journey from Ardfern to Inverness through Scotlands beautiful Highlands via the Caldonian Canal was simply fantastic. The Caldonian Canal, which connects Scotlands West with the East is a mixture of artificial waterways and natural lakes – the so called Lochs. The most famous one is probably Loch Ness, which was also on our route.
